Mission Statement
Called to Peace Ministries Exists to Provide a Compassionate, Comprehensive, and Christ-Centered Response to Those Impacted by Domestic Abuse.
Our Vision is Twofold:
- To provide Advocacy, Restore groups, and practical assistance to individuals affected by domestic abuse
- To help churches and other organizations better respond to these issues through education and support
Statement of faith
Called to Peace Ministries is a nondenominational parachurch ministry. We hold to the basic tenants of the faith as passed down by the church fathers and set forth in the Apostles’ Creed. We believe that God’s Word is the standard by which Christians are to live their lives.
At CTPM we believe that there should be unity when it comes to the essentials of the faith and liberty in the non-essentials. We allow for freedom of conscience when it comes to matters of theology that are not as clear or central to the Bible’s teaching. Our staff, board and volunteers are made up of people from various denominations who choose to respect one another in spite of doctrinal differences. When working with clients, we choose to maintain the same stance. We do not impose our theological beliefs on others in matters such as divorce and remarriage, headship/submission, and other topics widely debated among Christians. We will work within your doctrinal framework and respect your stance as long as it does not endanger victims of abuse.
The apostles' creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church,* the communion of the saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen
Disclaimer: CTPM provides education and resources to survivors of domestic abuse and educates people who desire to help them. In no way do we seek to be a substitute for the local church. Rather, our goal is to come alongside churches as they seek to support victims of abuse. We call on experts as we deem necessary from diverse professional disciplines and theological backgrounds to share expertise and solutions for survivors. Those invited to speak on issues of faith at our events agree with our statement of faith affirming historically essential doctrines of the Christian faith as set out in the Apostle’s Creed.
*The term catholic refers to the universal church, derived from the Greek kath holos, meaning “throughout the whole.”
